I won 1st Place! Sunset Sentinel by Cathy Geier |
I dropped everything and flew to Albuquerque last weekend to go see my quilt at the show. I can't tell you how thrilled I was about winning the First Place Ribbon in Landscapes! It was amazing. The wonderful AQS people even interviewed me and if I look nice and said sensible things I'll post a link to the video, lol!
(Otherwise I'll keep it secret!)

The whole rest of this blog is photos from the show. I thought I'd group them by type, these are the landscapes and animal quilts which were juried into the AQS Show in Albuquerque this year. I hope you like seeing them!

Oh Cathy, congratulations on that first place ribbon! Your quilt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Julia. I was thrilled to win it, just thrilled! See you in Paducah I hope!
DeleteThanks for posting all these. It's wonderful seeing all the talent!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Rachel. :)
DeleteCongrats!!! And TY so much for sharing all these images! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed them TylerRose. :)
DeleteCongratulations on your First Place Ribbon! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon!
DeleteCongratulations! The photo doesn't do it justice! Nothing beats seeing them in person!
ReplyDeleteThanks! There are so many details that you can't capture in a photo. Do you remember the doggy quilt - it had all the excuses from the dogs for their bad behavior written on the fence posts. That one you really need to see in person to appreciate.
DeleteAnyway, I'm glad you got to the show. :)
I liked all the 3 dimensional appliques on your Octopus.
All so beautiful. I'm in awe of the talent.
ReplyDeleteThere were some beautiful quilts there - no doubt about it. I'm continually amazed at what artists are doing with fabric these days! I'm glad you liked the blog. :)
